Sustainability Policy

Bodegas Piqueras has launched the development of a sustainability management system based on Winneries for Climate Protection, which includes ISO 14001:2015 certification.

In addition, we are developing a set of measures to improve our environmental management, such as increasing energy self-consumption, reducing energy dependence and achieving a reduction of our Carbon Footprint.

Our commitment to sustainability is applicable to organic production, developing more natural, healthy and ecological products that give an improvement in our commitment and respect for the social environment and our consumers. This commitment goes beyond the limits of the applicable legislation and is based on the implementation of a continuous improvement system that guarantees it, and thus achieve the supply of products and services that meet the needs of our customers and consumers, in order to make them loyal.

The policy of BODEGAS PIQUERAS will be based on the following fundamental principles:

I. CUSTOMER FOCUS: We meet the needs and specifications of our customers.

II. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY: We try to prevent pollution from our activities.

III. SUSTAINABILITY: We minimize the impact of our activities taking special care with: waste, consumption, external noise, atmospheric emissions and discharges.

IV. ETHICAL AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY: We make our decisions taking into account the circumstances that surround them and the people or organizations they may affect, our employees are aware of the importance of food safety, physical safety of the product and minimizing the environmental impact of our activities. Proactive measures will be taken to prevent occupational hazards. We are committed to a food safety culture promoted by the company’s management and transmitted to all the departments involved, developing training, communication, analysis and risk plans that allow for a consistent and adaptable development of food safety in the environment.

V. PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS: We develop products that comply with current legislation, with the criteria of BODEGAS PIQUERAS required during the processes and specifications of our customers, we will also take special care that the product does not suffer malicious manipulations.
VI. LEGISLATION COMPLIANCE: We identify and evaluate the compliance with the legislation both in our products and in our facilities at the level of environmental legislation, as well as including, but not limited to, legislation related to labor, immigration, health and safety.

VII. HACCP: We maintain and review the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) management system to keep under control at all times any possible risk of contamination.

VIII. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: We promote the continuous improvement of processes, products and services, establishing objectives.

IX. QUALITY CONTROL: We guarantee the quality of our products by using raw materials and packaging only from first class suppliers, certified, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and machinery, with manufacturing processes in accordance with the hygienic and physical safety standards of the products.

X. LEGALITY AND AUTHENTICITY: we are committed to the fight against food fraud, so we apply the necessary controls to ensure the legality and authenticity of our products.

XI. CLIMATE CHANGE: We are committed to reducing the impacts that may be generated by our activity that are harmful or detrimental to climate change or its advance. To this end, we will analyze these aspects with the intention of minimizing them and even generate objectives to achieve it.
